Admission Requirements

A minimum of two academic years (60 semester/90 quarter units) of baccalaureate level coursework from an institution that is accredited by any accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or in the case of international students, recognized by the appropriate agency in that country.

Although a bachelors degree is not required for admission, CUSV requires that all applicants must possess an associate degree or prove he/she has acquired 60 semester units or 90 quarter units in each college or university attended.

Prospective applicants who have not satisfied the minimum eligibility requirements are encouraged to complete studies in general education, including courses in English, Mathematics, Social Science, Biological and Physical Sciences, and to concentrate on completing a bachelors degree.

  8. Transcripts sent from the college(s)/university(ies) you have attended which may apply to your degree or may be transferable towards the Master of Acupuncture with a Chinese herbal medicine specialization program.

Submit an essay one page in length detailing your desire to become a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. Your Statement of Purpose should include your background, your interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine and your plans after graduation.

> Resume / Curriculum Vitae

Send either a resume or curriculum vitae with your application. List previous occupations, positions held, previous education, with start and end dates.

> Letters of recommendation

Submit two letters of recommendation with your application.

> Transcripts

Submit official transcripts and transcript evaluations from each college or university attended. Transcripts must be sent from the institution directly to the CUSV Office of Admission.

If you have completed college or university level education in another country, you must have your transcripts reviewed by a credential evaluation agency that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. Transcripts need to be evaluated on a course-by-course basis. The evaluation, containing the total number of earned credits and cumulative GPA, needs to be be sent directly to California University-Silicon Valley Admission Office by the evaluating agency. When to Apply

CUSV has a “rolling admissions” policy, which allows for the submission of an application at any time. Academic trimesters start in January, May and September and prospective students are encouraged to apply for admission well in advance of their anticipated entrance date.
